About RLM Community Outreach, Inc.

 At RLM Community Outreach, Inc., our mission is to provide assistance to the formerly incarcerated and their families by equipping those in need with counseling, educational, employment, housing and well-being support through private and social services. 

We are committed to helping the justice involved reconnect with their families by providing necessary support for housing, employment, and emotional stabilization. Our priority is supporting family-centered programing that facilitates stronger familial bonds, thereby reducing the recidivism rate. 

At RLM Communtiy Outreach, Inc., we believe that everyone reentering society deserves dignity and opportunity. These simple core values are our commitment to the justice involved and the families we serve.

RLM Community Outreach, Inc. was founded in 2023 by Andrea Stephens. Active in her community and in the field of Criminal Justice, Andrea recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping formerly incarcerated individuals and their families reconnect. Since then, RLM Community Outreach, Inc. has grown into a thriving nonprofit, serving individuals in the Wake County and surrounding areas.

We are proud to partner with a variety of local organizations to provide the best possible support to our clients. Our dedicated partners and community volunteers help us extend our reach and impact in the community to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Whether you're interested in volunteering, donating, or simply learning more about our organization, there are many ways to get involved with RLM Community Outreach, Inc. We welcome individuals and groups of all backgrounds and experience levels as well as offering community service hours and documentation to our volunteers.

Having a criminal record can make finding a home difficult, but we recognize success is not possible without a safe and secure place to live. RLM Community Outreach Inc. is committed to helping those with a criminal record find suitable and affordable housing for themselves and their families.

Being able to support oneself is crucial in  terms of gaining independence. At RLM Community Outreach, Inc., we assist clients and their teen or young adult children with job searches and interview preparation. 

These work programs are vital for building independence, responsibility and financial literacy while boosting self-esteem. 

Our clients and teens learn to develop accountability, time management skills and resilience by learning to navigate real-world work place dynamics.

By teaching problem solving skills and professional etiquette, clients develop a better sense of punctuality and team work.

Our program encourages our clients, teens, and young adults to meet deadlines, take initiative, learn to budget, save, and understand the value of their work while building confidence and social skills.

At RLM Community Outreach Inc., we believe that higher education is key to improving opportunities not only in the job market, but in life skills as well. We proudly support individuals taking courses for personal growth and enrichment. We also work alongside others in the community to provide assistance to the children of incarcerated individuals with their education needs. 

RLM Community Outreach, Inc. maintains a storage center with clothing and household items for our clients. We regularly host drives in which we distribute clothing and other items to justice involved men, women, and children in need. ALL donated items and proceeds go directly to local clients in need.

RLM Community Outreach, Inc. works with local health organizations to provide care to our clients that include, but are not limited to: Anger Management, Conflict Resolution Skills, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Individual Therapy, Parenting Skills, Stress Management, Substance Abuse and Trauma Intervention. Assistance to these resources is available 24-hours. 

RLM Community Outreach, Inc., is working diligently to open a community center in the near future. The center will be a multipurpose building equipped with a media center.  The center will be available for client use and will feature a modern state of the art computer lab. 

Clients will have access to computers, printers, fax machines and phones to aid in job searches, homework and projects, and educational classes. A conference room will be available for a variety of uses including training opportunities, group and family activities, and group as well as  idividual counseling sessions.

Having a support system is vital to reentry efforts and reuniting families affected by the justice system is paramount to our organization. At RLM Community Outreach, Inc., we advocate for special family visits, counseling and work shops for children, and we facilitate family outings for the children of the justice involved.
